Academic English III Course Description:
This course is designed for students who have expressed an interest in post-secondary, academic education. This course covers skills in grammar, literature, composition, research, and vocabulary. Grammar studies include sentence construction and order, usage, and mechanics. Literature involves an in-depth study of literary forms and techniques as well as a chronological study of American literature. Composition introduces the students to other forms of writing, as well as refining known techniques in paragraphing, essay writing, and composition.Vocabulary skills continue to be developed through weekly lessons. Research skills are practiced, and organizational skills in thought and writing are developed.
