English III Course Description:

This course covers basic skills in five areas: grammar, literature, research, composition, and vocabulary. Grammar studies include sentence structure, usage, and mechanics. Literature involves the study of various literary forms as well as a chronological study of American literature. Composition allows the student to improve skills in paragraphing, essay and summary writing, and general organizational skills in writing and thought. Vocabulary study will continue on a weekly basis.
